High Temperature Toll Processing
If you have any special development requirements, or just need
to cover a bottleneck in capacity, we would welcome the opportunity
to discuss how CCI can support you. Because we specialize in the manufacture
of Carbon/Carbon Composites and high temperature Graphite Insulation, our furnaces are well suited to process these types of materials.
Vacuum Resistance Furnace
The
working hot zone size for this bottom loading furnace is 63"
ID by 124" tall. It has a maximum operating temperature of
2,000oC and a minimum vacuum
level of 20 microns. Vacuum is achieved using a single-stage
rotary piston pump combined with a 2,700 CFM mechanical booster
(10" inlet).
The graphite insulation is entirely shielded by a Carbon/Carbon
(C/C) cylindrical liner, top and bottom C/C disks, and C/C electrode
and vacuum port penetration protectors.
Graphite Resistance Furnace
Commissioned
in June of 2005, this inert atmosphere furnace was designed and
built in-house with a working payload space of 93" wide x
120" deep x 158" high and has a maximum operating temperature
of 2,200oC. The graphite hot zone features Composite Rigid Board Insulation, C/C Fixtures and Heat Shields, which were all manufactured by Carbon Composites, Inc.
The insulation is a multi-layer composite/foil-faced rigidized
carbon felt supported within the hot zone by a thermally expanding
Carbon/Carbon
I-beam cage. All penetrations include C/C protective
liners. The door shiplap areas are covered by foil-encapsulated
C/C stepped “U” channels.
We welcome customer visits to view our uniquely designed furnace hot zones.
